St. Ives (#60/#59)*
This is the kind of movie I tend to love. It’s light, witty, the perfect mix of romance and adventure, and a period film to boot. Really though, I found it to be incredibly enjoyable and entertaining. The four main leads - Jean-Marc Barr (sexy), Anna Friel (delightful), Miranda Richardson (very nice to see her being comedic for once), and Richard E. Grant (wonderful timing) - are all great and play off each other beautifully, allowing the humor to come through in the moment in frequently hilarious understated ways. I caught it streaming on Netflix and will happily be rewatching it again sometime soon.
(I paused this partway through to watch Intolerable Cruelty with a friend. This was significantly better.)
